Conrad is an employment law solicitor who joined Thompsons in July 2022.

Prior to coming to Thompsons, Conrad worked for two years in commercial practices representing employer's interests and was inspired to ‘switch sides’ and join Thompsons - which only ever acts for employees and never for employers - after a spell volunteering with a pro bono charity providing free employment law advice to individuals who had been mistreated at work. Now working in Thompsons’ Cardiff office, Conrad assists trade union officials to ensure that their members can enforce workplace rights and, where there is no industrial solution, represent them in the employment tribunal.

Conrad says that the most enjoyable aspect of his role is knowing his work makes a positive difference to people’s lives and working alongside colleagues at Thompsons who share his values.

Outside of work, Conrad enjoys being outdoors and active, plays cricket, cycles and is a fan of long-distance walking.

Conrad's case experience

  • Secured £43,500 for a new mother after her employer had changed her role - amounting to a de-facto demotion - during her maternity leave.
  • Secured £17,500 compensation for an employee who had been automatically unfairly dismissed for having raised legitimate health and safety concerns about his employer’s continued failure to comply with governmental guidance on Covid-19 protective measures.
  • Secured £10,000 for a client who was unfairly dismissed, who was then able to use those funds to achieve his longstanding ambition of re-training as an electrician. Conrad’s client said that without the compensation he may never have been able to achieve his ambition.
