Readley Asbestos and Mesothelioma Support was set up by Samantha Cox, whose father died from mesothelioma. Samantha is a qualified counsellor and a registered member of the BACP and has trained with CRUSE Bereavement.
From her own experiences, Samantha soon realised the need for a holistic approach when supporting victims of asbestos, which encompasses emotional, physical, social and financial wellbeing.
The group provides individuals and families with monthly support group meetings and home visits. Offering advice on symptoms, treatments and clinical trials, each group meeting is also attended by a specialist Mesothelioma UK clinical nurse.
Readley was created in 2015 and Thompsons is proud to have worked with the organisation from the start. The firm has supported with fundraising activities and regularly attends monthly meetings. Specialist legal advice is given where needed and Thompsons continues to work with the group to raise awareness of asbestos-related disease.
