Carl is an employment rights solicitor based in Thompsons Solicitors’ London office, handling cases for trade union clients in London, the East and South East of England.
With 12 years’ legal experience, Carl pursues claims for unfair dismissal, all types of discrimination, trade union detriment (including multi-claimant cases such as TUPE), Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment), holiday pay and protective awards. Carl will advise trade union officials about the merits of potential claims, representing members through ACAS, conciliation, and attempts to settle, if appropriate. Failing settlement, Carl will pursue cases through to employment tribunals.
A former caseworker for first the Disability Rights Commission and, later on, the Equality and Human Rights Commission, Carl has a great deal of experience in fighting discrimination. Carl also assists with training union officers and representatives in the latest employment law practices.

- Won a religious discrimination case for a bus driver, a Seventh-day Adventist, who was not given the Sabbath off work, despite asking his employing bus company and explaining his religious grounds for not working on that day.Â
