Mesothelioma Claims
Thompsons won the first successful case for asbestos disease compensation in 1972, and has been involved in every major test case since.
Each year, around 2,500 people are diagnosed with mesothelioma (sometimes referred to as ‘meso’), a fatal form of cancer which is caused by asbestos.
Mesothelioma takes a long time to develop, often 40 years or more for symptoms to show, so being diagnosed with the disease often comes as a complete shock. It is a devastating reminder of the UK’s legacy of asbestos.
Make a claim and keep 100% compensation
While no amount of money can ever give you back your health, asbestos compensation can help support you and your family.
If you’ve been diagnosed with mesothelioma, or have lost a loved one to the disease, and would like to make a compensation claim, we are here to help. You can make a mesothelioma claim completely free of charge through your union legal service and you’ll keep 100% of any compensation awarded.
In contrast, if you were to make the same claim through a high street solicitor or personal injury claim firm, legal fees would be deducted from your compensation.
Time limits for mesothelioma claims
With some limited exceptions, you must make a claim within three years of your mesothelioma diagnosis. If you are making a claim on behalf of a deceased family member, you must make a claim within three years of their death, or the date of which you became aware that their death was as a result of mesothelioma. Make sure you get in touch as soon as possible to start your claim.
