Natalie Hunt is a senior member of Thompsons Solicitors' employment matters team and of the firm's national Settlement Agreement Unit (SAU).

An employment rights solicitor, Natalie is a nationally renowned expert in settlement agreements - legally binding contracts between an employer and employees. She has successfully led a range of cases including mass redundancies, voluntary severances and NHS mutually-agreed resignation schemes.

Natalie started her training contract in 2006 and qualified in 2008 and her considerable experience includes managing complex medical negligence caseloads. As part of her current specialism, Natalie has an intimate understanding of a range of key industries and travels the country advising on mass and voluntary redundancies.

While Natalie is based in Plymouth, she is the deputy leader of the SAU and responsible for supervising and supporting colleagues and building the unit’s profile across the UK. Highly professional with a much-respected attention to detail, Natalie is also approachable. She is the unit’s key point of contact for trade unions and has close union links in the South West and regularly attends events there.

Natalie joined Thompsons in 2015, giving her the opportunity to develop employment law on behalf of trade unionists. She particularly enjoys meeting and assisting union members during her travels across the country and is a regular visitor to the Tolpuddle Martyrs Festival.

Natalie says the most rewarding thing about working for Thompsons is the firm’s commitment to assisting those in need and its position at the forefront of employment rights and personal injury litigation.

Natalie values Thompsons’ unique commitment to upholding the firm’s founding philosophy to assist only employees; for those mistreated at work and victims of injury.

Before Natalie began her legal career, she lived in Canada and Azerbaijan. Natalie continues to travel and has trekked Kilimanjaro, Everest Base Camp and Machu Picchu. Natalie still wants to accomplish Mount Elbrus, another of the seven summits – the highest mountains of the seven continents.

Much of her time these days is spent renovating a big old Edwardian terrace house with her husband and energetic golden retriever Douglas. She also likes to walk Dartmoor with Douglas.
