Thompsons Solicitors to participate in a selection of workshops and talks on 08 March 2015 as part of International Women’s Day
As International Women’s Day fast approaches, representatives from Thompsons Solicitors are preparing to gather together with union sisters to encourage women to 'make things happen', the theme for this year's awareness day.
Thompsons Solicitors has helped to organise an afternoon of events to celebrate International Women’s Day on 08 March 2015 which will take place at the People’s History Museum in Manchester from 2pm - 5pm.
Joined by representatives from the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, the Knowledge and Socialist Thought Institute, UNISON North West, Keeping our Girls Safe, and a panel of female MPs, the event will consist of a programme of speakers, workshops and discussions encouraging women to ‘make it happen’ and have their say ahead of the general election in May.
Jo Seery from Thompsons Solicitors said: “At Thompsons, we are proud to work closely with and campaign alongside trade union groups for improved women’s rights and equality in work and society as a whole.
“In the run up to a general election, it is more important than ever for women’s views to be heard. We plan to mark this important day by bringing together a selection of speakers and putting on a series of workshops to ignite discussions surrounding gender inequality. We will also celebrate the achievements of women, past and present.”
