International Women’s Day, which takes place on 08 March each year, is a day of global recognition which aims to inspire women, celebrate their achievements and continue the campaign for greater equality.

International Women’s Day has been observed since the early 1900s and events and activities will take place across the world to mark the occasion.

The theme for this year is ‘Make It Happen’ with people being encouraged to take effective action for advancing and recognising women and to fight for true equality between men and women in the workplace, in the home, in politics, in business and society as a whole.
