The Merseyside Asbestos Victims Support Group offers free and confidential advice to those living in Merseyside, and further afield, who have been affected by an asbestos-related disease.
The charity, formed in 1993, is run by and on behalf of asbestos victims and their families and is committed to improving the services and information available to those affected by these devastating diseases.
MAVSG played an instrumental part in forming the All Party Parliamentary Group on Asbestos. The APPG has regular meetings with MPs and Lords to highlight improvements needed in the provision of services and treatment for asbestos victims, as well as funding to find a cure for mesothelioma.
Thompsons supports MAVSG by providing legal support to victims and their families and works with them to raise awareness and take action against asbestos. Thompsons and MAVSG campaign on issues such as the removal of asbestos from schools and public buildings.
